His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF).
Upon arrival, HM the King was received by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Commander-in-Chief of BDF, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Commander of the Royal Guard’s Special Force, Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs and senior BDF staff.
HM the King expressed his pride in Bahrain's defence staff and their competence and noted their constant keenness to carry out patriotic tasks entrusted to them with courage and determination, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces received a number of newly graduated officers of the 200th batch from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom. HM the King congratulated the graduates, wishing them continued success in serving their country.
HM King Hamad praised Bahraini’s keenness to excel in military and civil services to serve their country in the best way.
The graduates expressed their gratitude to HM the King for his support and encouragement to the citizens to achieve further success in education.
In another development, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Senator Rick Scott, Member of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.
Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, attended the meeting.
Shaikh Khalifa praised the Bahraini-US ties and the ongoing cooperation in all fields, including in the military and defense sectors.
The Commander-in-Chief affirmed the importance of the partnership between Bahrain and the US which continues to see ongoing development.
